it’s 40MB well wasted in my opinion, instead of those 500MB or whatever from VLC.This community is for all who want to share and talk about their experiences with MLB: The Show. If you find them eventually, and you will, just get a program like File converter (open source: ). a normal user, problaby does not even knows what is a AIFF or MKV file LOL, and it’s extremely rare – in my experience at least – to find a AIFF file or MKV that is original or converted from the original, most files I find on the internet were files like AVI converted into MKV for example, and when this happens it’s basically a waste of time, it’s better to just get the AVI file instead of the MKV and save some trouble of installing a program to play it, and there are worst cases, like converting a 128KB mp3 file into 320 or even into WAV format… it’s a waste of time, the file has been compressed, lost the quality and the result will be a huge music with 100MB with almost the same quality of that 8MB mp3 file… if you get a AIFF file or PCM is because you need the file for something, maybe for music production. if you need other file types, is because you need them specifically for something, like really high resolution videos normally come in MKV, and that is when you need a specific software to play it. all of them pratically played by all of the music/video players out there.

I like AVI, MP4 and MPEG for video, MP3/AAC and FLAC for music. for video is the same, practically every video player supports at least 1 filetype with compression-drastical lose of quality compression-almost 100% quality no compression-all the quality. than for people that want a little bit more of quality, why don’t just use FLAC, a music format that compresses the file without losing quality? for more demanding people, why don’t just use Wav, a file format with no compression, 100% quality? practically all the music players out there support this file formats. MP3, AAC, they compress the file to make it smaller, giving less quality.

I have to admit that I have not tried a whole lot of media player apps for Windows 10 because I only use desktop PCs and use better media players on these devices.ĭon’t get me wrong, VLC is a great program, but a normal person won’t need a MKV file, or even a AIFF or PCM file. It shines when you compare it to other media players.

If you cannot install the desktop version of VLC on your device, then the VLC app is one of the best options that you have when it comes to installing a powerful media player. As I said earlier, the VLC app is not a bad program, but it is not great when you compare it to the desktop program. This changes the situation significantly. Windows 10 may run on other devices as well where you may not be able to install desktop programs on. While the latter is more or less dead at this point, the Xbox One is not. It runs on Microsoft's Xbox One, and on Windows 10 Mobile. The VLC program is still more powerful and better in all regards.īut Windows 10 runs on other devices as well. First, there is still no reason to run the VLC application on a Windows 10 PC. With Windows 10, things have changed a bit.
